Optimistic attitude can reduce risk of heart attack or even death, so the results of a new study. Several studies conducted by researchers from the University of Pittsburgh have found, people who have joy and hope tend to be in a better condition than those who live with a view of the more dismal. Studies that have been tracking more than 97,000 American women who have entered menopause period for more than eight years, the largest study to date on the impact of positive thinking on health.
All women who participated in the study completed a survey, entering a variety of studies to assess their level of optimism and the level of cynicism and hostility in general. After following the development of them for eight years, compared with the pessimistic, optimistic people who have a risk of 9 percent lower heart attack and exposed to 14 percent lower likelihood of death.
"Most evidence shows that negative level is higher and the ongoing danger to health," says Dr Hilary A Tindle, specialist in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and main author of the study reports.
Although the research team said that it is not clear why people are more optimistic healthy, the study shows that optimistic people have a little more likely to become depressed and melampiaskannya on the cigarette.
